Appleton (Nathan) House is built.

[1806] Architect: Asher Benjamin. Designed in the Federal style and built by James Colburn, it is located at 54 Beacon Street. The house is purchased by Nathan Appleton in 1808, by his cousin Samuel Appleton in 1820, and remains in the family for at least a hundred years. It is divided into two parts in 1942 and is today an apartment building.
